MESSAGE FROM OPERATIONS: Slope Electric receives positive marks

Slope Electric Cooperative is dedicated to safety. To strengthen its culture of safety, Slope Electric takes part in the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP).

Earlier this fall, Slope Electric received strong performance marks in a RESAP onsite safety assessment.

Every three years, the North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives (NDAREC) visits the cooperative unannounced to conduct a RESAP evaluation. During the evaluation, the safety team at NDAREC observes the cooperative’s facilities, warehouses, pole yards, vehicles, substations and more. Additionally, records are reviewed, from inspection sheets to emergency and safety plans. This program helps optimize safety practices across the cooperative.

“The culture of open communication and a willingness to listen and exchange ideas, with the goal of making Slope Electric Cooperative better every day. Attitudes and overall safety culture seem strong,” NDAREC’s observation team noted.

From the visit, NDAREC gives recommendations on what the cooperative can improve before its next visit.

Slope Electric strives to provide a safe work environment for all employees, with the goal of ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of each day. Whether working in the office, around the shop or in the field, safety is a shared commitment every employee works to uphold and strengthen.

We are extremely proud of our employees’ hard work and dedication to ensuring this goal can be achieved.
