One-Call Locating Service

Anytime you plan to excavate whether planting trees, building a deck or installing a mailbox - you must call the ND One-Call number at least 48 hours before you dig. Just dial 811 - it's free.

One Call will arrange for the location of all utility owned underground facilities that may have an impact on your project. You may be held liable for damage to underground facilities if you do not call before you dig!

Protect yourselves and your property against underground utility damage and liability. Find out where the underground utility lines might be buried before you dig.

Anyone digging in North Dakota must call before digging. The person who is doing the work is responsible for calling ND One-Call. If the owner contracts with a professional excavator to do the excavation, then the professional excavator is responsible for calling ND One-Call.

You (the digger) will need to provide the following information about the work site when calling One-Call

  • Legal description

  • County, city, street address

  • Nearest intersecting street

  • Who work is being done for

  • Type of work planned, extent of work and depth

  • Name of caller, your telephone number

  • Proposed digging date & time

To contact ND One-Call, dial 811. You can also fill out an online locate request.
